Your Community. Their Hope. Our Partnership.
Establish a patient-centered biobank that creates lasting value for your research community.
For nonprofit organizations, everything begins with the patient community they serve.
Every family hopes for better diagnostics, treatments, and ultimately a cure. While many patients want to participate in research, traditional studies can be limited by recruitment timelines, travel, and other barriers.
A nonprofit biobank helps overcome these challenges by creating a research-ready collection of biospecimens available when researchers need them—helping accelerate scientific discovery while creating a lasting research asset for your organization.
Avrok partners with nonprofit organizations to develop and manage disease-focused biobanks through integrated biospecimen collection, laboratory services, and long-term biobanking. Whether launching a new program or expanding an existing one, we provide the scientific expertise and infrastructure to support your mission.
Build a Lasting Research Legacy
Empower your patient community to help shape the future of research.
For nonprofit organizations, everything begins with the patient community they serve. Every family hopes for better diagnostics, treatments, and ultimately a cure. Many patients want to contribute to research, but participation is often limited by study availability, travel, and other barriers.
A patient-centered biobank helps bridge that gap. By collecting and preserving biospecimens before they’re needed, researchers can access research-ready samples without waiting for new participants to enroll—helping accelerate scientific discovery while creating a lasting research asset for your organization.
Avrok partners with nonprofit organizations to design, establish, and manage disease-focused biobanking programs. Through integrated biospecimen collection, laboratory services, and long-term specimen stewardship, we provide the scientific expertise and infrastructure to support your mission—whether you’re launching your first biobank or expanding an existing program.
Why Nonprofits Build Biobanks
Build research infrastructure today. Create lasting impact tomorrow.
A nonprofit biobank is more than a collection of biospecimens—it is a long-term investment in your organization’s future. By creating a research-ready collection of biospecimens, your organization becomes better positioned to support researchers, attract collaborations, strengthen grant opportunities, and accelerate scientific discovery.
Unlike a single research project, a well-designed biobank continues creating value for years by supporting future studies, expanding research collaborations, strengthening grant opportunities, and positioning your organization as a trusted research partner.
Benefits Include:
- Create a valuable organizational research asset
- Develop long-term research infrastructure
- Generate sustainable funding opportunities
- Increase patient participation in research
- Build patient registries and biospecimen collections
- Strengthen grant competitiveness and funding opportunities
- Expand academic and industry research partnerships
- Increase your organization's visibility within the research community
- Build a foundation for future discoveries
- Advance scientific discovery for your disease community

More Than a Lab. More Than a CRO. A Different Kind of Research Partner.
Creating Sustainable Funding
Turn your biobank into a long-term organizational asset.
Once your nonprofit has established a biobank with Avrok, it becomes more than a valuable research resource—it can also create new opportunities to generate revenue that supports your mission.
Your organization maintains ownership and control of its biospecimen collection while deciding how specimens are made available to qualified researchers. Whether you choose to manage researcher requests directly or leverage Avrok’s scientific network, your biobank can become a sustainable source of funding that supports patient programs, advocacy, research initiatives, and future growth.
Choose the Partnership Approach That’s Right for Your Organization.
Option 1 — Organization-Managed Research Access
Your organization maintains direct relationships with researchers and determines which specimen requests to approve.
Avrok securely stores your biobank and fulfills approved biospecimen requests on your organization’s behalf, allowing you to maintain control while eliminating the operational burden of storage, inventory management, and specimen distribution.
Researchers may also choose to utilize Avrok’s integrated laboratory capabilities—including sample processing, analytical testing, molecular testing, and other scientific services—to further support their research projects.
When qualifying Avrok laboratory services are performed on biospecimens from your nonprofit’s biobank, eligible projects also qualify for the Beyond the Bench Initiative, providing an additional donation back to your organization.
Option 2 — Avrok-Managed Research Access
Your organization authorizes Avrok to promote your available biospecimens to qualified researchers within our scientific network.
Avrok manages researcher inquiries, specimen qualification, fulfillment, and logistics on your behalf, reducing administrative burden while creating additional opportunities for research collaborations and revenue generation.
Option 3 — Hybrid Partnership
Many organizations choose a combination of both approaches.
Your nonprofit may continue working directly with existing research partners while allowing Avrok to expand awareness of your biobank and facilitate new research opportunities through our growing network of academic, biotechnology, and pharmaceutical clients.
This flexible model allows your organization to maximize the scientific value of its biobank while creating multiple opportunities for sustainable revenue and long-term organizational growth.
